Buddy, the Dalmatian

My first little guy ever! What an exciting moment driving five hours out of state to pick up an eight week old panda dog. I drove the entire way there to have the privilege of having buddy sleep on me the whole way back. From the very first moment our relationship started buddy was the best of boys. Not one accident on the car ride. It would have been fine had buddy done so but buddy didn’t. Naturally we stopped our travels to allow little buddy to go potty. It was not hard to convince me this was going to be the start of a beautiful bonding experience.

As buddy sleeps next to me this fine spring speaking morning. I got inspired to transfer buddy’s essence into the digital land scape. As buddy nears one year of age. I can not imagine life with out buddy. Buddy brings out unique emotions out of me. Buddy has introduced outwardly expressed communication via energy. Buddy does not speak English wild I know. Therefore body language & energy levels are indicators for context. Unconsciously, I have adopted an accommodating nature to turn the native language between us to that of the same.

I make it a point that when I spend time with buddy I do not look at my phone. Listen to me. Buddy can play forever. Our walks can be sole deteriorating. This leaves me with so much uninterrupted brain activity. Buddy keeps me in reality. Buddy prolongs my humanity as we entangle more & more everyday with technology. I look at buddy as so much more than just an animal. However, in moments of connection I’m humbled in knowing I too am an animal. Suddenly, this tranquil sensation of naturalness. Nature reconnecting with nature. Natural is what both Buddy & I have in common.

Buddy is great at separating work time & relaxation time. It fits my Taurus aura perfectly. When I want to relax I want to relax. Though, when it is time to get after it Buddy & I go get it.

It has been an incredible experience to hang out with Buddy for close to a year. The future holds many experiences with lessons to learn.
